QuiteSplendid
Hey everyone, I'm HowSplendid. I'm just a guy on here trying to get better at drawing, though I still have a long ways. I've been self teaching myself for almost 9 years now, and I really hope it shows!

Could you stop putting your sketches in the art portal, please?
Just stop clicking the "This is not a sketch, please include it in the Art Portal" box. They will still be on your profile.

There are times when you are simply flooding the portal with sketches, and I can see from your submissions that you are capable of adding linework and colour to your drawings.

In my eyes, they are finished. They are properly shaded for the most part and cleaned to the best of my ability. They are black and white traditional drawings. I never intend to color many of my drawings and when I do, they tend to be a last minute decision. If you still wish to see them as sketches, then do as you think is appropriate for the matter.

Sorry that you feel this way.

Hate to argue with you, but this

is a more developed version of this

... yet you've still claimed they're both finalised pictures anyway.

The other issue is that your stuff has next to nothing going on in them: they're caricatures with flat shading. Everybody could do what you're doing, except they don't. The art portal isn't supposed to look like somebody's sketchbook with 1 colour image in every 8 submissions.

Well looking at the first 15 or so pages I've found these:

Take them as you will. I'm sure that there are plenty more that would be considered unfinished.

I consider my drawings finished and this is the first time since I've signed up and posted in the portal that I've been told that my drawings are not.
I get what you're saying, but I don't have time color everything in my gallery, which is why I clean up and shade (as you say simplistically) my drawings much as I can. At that point, they are no longer sketches.

... You're still submitting pencil sketches as finalised pics.

This is my last warning: stop marking them as non-sketches, or I will have to unscout you for being needlessly stubborn.

With all due respect, please stop harassing him for his sketches. You have no proper foundation for your argument. Nowhere in the art portal's terms of use document does it say that sketches are not allowed, and the submission page's check box makes no indication of such either. If there is indeed a rule against sketches, both pages should be worded in such a way as to leave nothing unclear.
