QuiteSplendid
Hey everyone, I'm HowSplendid. I'm just a guy on here trying to get better at drawing, though I still have a long ways. I've been self teaching myself for almost 9 years now, and I really hope it shows!

Updated Commission prices

Posted by QuiteSplendid - January 24th, 2015

Plain and simple, I need the money, because it's been really hard to find a job. No negotiating either, sorry. My apologies for the changes in prices. It's been rather stressful lately.

COMMISSION INFORMATION

I accept Paypal only.

Payment is in advance.(So please make sure you really want a commission and stick with it  [:)]  )

I ask for a non-specific time-frame as it adds pressure to finish the drawing, so I ask that you are patience.

I prefer to draw in my style ONLY. I like my style and I don't like to try and copy another artist's.

Things I'll be able to do:

Original characters
Fan art(depends)
Chibis/Cutesy
Anthropomorphic
Human(of course)

Feel free to ask if I can do other types.

please nothing realistic. Not a favorite on realism.

I do both Traditional and Digital
Pencil Sketch for a character: $10.00-USD

Full traditional

Please note or email me if you are interested or if you also need more details for the commission. I do ask for a good reference, so that it helps as I draw, thanks!  [:)]

Paypal email: yep_ws33p2@yahoo.com

More info: ^^

I ask that once you pay for a commission, please stick with your decision, as I'm still new with Paypal and its rules, and I don't want to deal last minute changes.

Once payment is received, I will start working on your drawing.

Please feel free to check up on the status of your drawing(but once per week please  [^^;] )

Once the sketch is completed, I will show you the progress of the drawing and ask if you want last minute changes on the drawing itself. However, once the sketch is done or if the line art has started, you can no longer ask for last minute changes.

You can do whatever you want with the drawing afterwards, but please don't take credit for drawing it, thanks!

Prices are going to vary, so I will give a heads up beforehand.

If you have any more questions, please feel free to ask and I will gladly answer! ^^
I'm accepting another commission now. Please feel free to ask! ^^

Could you stop putting your sketches in the art portal, please?
Just stop clicking the "This is not a sketch, please include it in the Art Portal" box. They will still be on your profile.

There are times when you are simply flooding the portal with sketches, and I can see from your submissions that you are capable of adding linework and colour to your drawings.

In my eyes, they are finished. They are properly shaded for the most part and cleaned to the best of my ability. They are black and white traditional drawings. I never intend to color many of my drawings and when I do, they tend to be a last minute decision. If you still wish to see them as sketches, then do as you think is appropriate for the matter.

Sorry that you feel this way.

Hate to argue with you, but this
http://www.newgrounds.com/art/view/howsplendid/kim-annoyed-digital
is a more developed version of this
http://www.newgrounds.com/art/view/howsplendid/kim-annoyed
... yet you've still claimed they're both finalised pictures anyway.

The other issue is that your stuff has next to nothing going on in them: they're caricatures with flat shading. Everybody could do what you're doing, except they don't. The art portal isn't supposed to look like somebody's sketchbook with 1 colour image in every 8 submissions.

Well looking at the first 15 or so pages I've found these:
http://www.newgrounds.com/art/view/reit9/sketch-from-the-stream-n-1?context=ratings:etm.offset:798
http://www.newgrounds.com/art/view/studiopep/katie-anderson-038?context=ratings:etm.offset:123
http://www.newgrounds.com/art/view/holimount2/elika-senketsu-linework?context=ratings:etm.offset:158
http://www.newgrounds.com/art/view/aanniimmaakkss/sword-art-online-3?context=ratings:etm.offset:169
http://www.newgrounds.com/art/view/mattmattymattymatt/boobs-thingy?context=ratings:etm.offset:259

Take them as you will. I'm sure that there are plenty more that would be considered unfinished.

I consider my drawings finished and this is the first time since I've signed up and posted in the portal that I've been told that my drawings are not.
I get what you're saying, but I don't have time color everything in my gallery, which is why I clean up and shade (as you say simplistically) my drawings much as I can. At that point, they are no longer sketches.

... You're still submitting pencil sketches as finalised pics.

This is my last warning: stop marking them as non-sketches, or I will have to unscout you for being needlessly stubborn.

With all due respect, please stop harassing him for his sketches. You have no proper foundation for your argument. Nowhere in the art portal's terms of use document does it say that sketches are not allowed, and the submission page's check box makes no indication of such either. If there is indeed a rule against sketches, both pages should be worded in such a way as to leave nothing unclear.
